Hello and welcome. You’re here for the latest news from your favorite sports network. Let’s get to it then!
Rumors
Let’s start the rumors section with some hot and steamy Rajon Rondo tea. Seems like Carmelo Anthony is trying to recruit Rondo to joining the Knicks in 2015. I hope there’s another player coming along for the ride. I don’t know if those two together equals championship unless they plan on having quite a core around them.
Meanwhile, rumors are rampant for the Knicks. Will their head coach be fired? Will they trade Iman Shumpert? And, like I just said, will Rondo eventually come via free agency, or could there be a trade in the works? We already heard rumors of that.
Miami Heat looking to trade a big man? They need some back court help and they have some big men to move around if they want. Wade going down has the Heat concerned with being able to play without him, if only for a few games at a time.
Kings and Raptors are in talks for a trade. Jimmer Fredette (Kings) and Aron Gray (Raptors) would be swapped.
The race is on. The Rockets are ready to trade Omer Asik by December 19th.
Injuries
Rajon Rondo was cleared to practice. However, Celtics’ GM doesn’t think he’ll be back as soon as some figured.
The Bucks’ injury saga continues. Latest (Friday Dec. 6th) they were without three key players.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is out 4-6 weeks with a broken hand.
Danilo Gallinari is not close to returning to the court.
J.J. Redick is out 6-8 weeks with a fractured wrist. Breaks can change the bone structure. I wonder how this injury affects a shooter like Redick.
Kobe is ready to get his NBA going out party started. He says December 8th, against the team he scored 81 points against, the Raptors, is when he would play. Lakers have been looking good without him. Clearly, Kobe is the man. I just wonder what happens to the roster chemistry.
Meanwhile, Steve Nash is still not sure when he’ll be back to action. He’s actually asking himself if he can even play the game anymore. Uh-oh.
Jordan Farmar is out for at least 4 weeks with a torn hamstring. Ouch. With Nash having a bad time and Farmar out, Lakers may be in the hunt for a PG.
Mavericks getting a couple of players back into the fold. Brandon Wright and famous enemy of the 76ers Devin Harris are nearing returns to the court.
Roster moves
Bulls made an interesting move. They sent their PG, Marcus Teague, to the D-League. With Derrick Rose going down, you would think they would keep Teague around to back Kirk Hinrich up. I guess that wasn’t working. I wonder if that means Bulls are open to bringing a PG in by trade.
More D-League news from the Hawks. They sent Dennis Schroder and John Jenkins down while they recalled Jared Cunningham
Kings send Hamady Ndiaye to the D-League
Mavericks had sent Ricky Ledo to the D-League.
Accomplishments/Milestones
Kyle Korver continues to build his legacy as one of the best shooters to play the game. He breaks the NBA record for made 3s in a a game in a row. Sixers fans…how are we feeling? We saw him first (well, actually Nets did as they drafted him though he never played for them). I miss the guy.
Kyle wasn’t the only Hawk to make some career strides. Paul Millsap reached a couple of milestones himself in points and assists.
But wait! There’s more. Cartier Martin of the same Hawks hit a career milestone too in points.
I’m sure we talked about this here at The Sixer Sense but, Michael Carter-Williams and Victor Oladipo made NBA history as the first two rookies to have triple doubles in the same game. Considering all of the great rookies that have faced off in league history, this is pretty impressive.
Off the court
Ugh, I’ll leave my opinion/thoughts out of this one. Nate Robinson was fined $25,000…because he said the refs hate him. Oh boy.
Timberwolves and Spurs were supposed to play in Mexico City. Then, the arena ended up being filled with smoke. Now, the game is postponed. No make up date yet.
