This tweet got me thinking about Dario Šarić and his fit with the Sixers, specifically with Wiggins. It’s something that I have pondered in the past but went into full rant mode last night. It was around midnight or later when I started watching highlight reels and game tapes of Saric and all a sudden, everything clicked. Thanks to @ShamusNBA for being the only one up to actually see me rant about Saric…and others actually. Somehow we ended up talking about Enes Kanter at one point? Like I said, it was a late night..
This post is dedicated to the hypothetical situation in which the Sixers draft Wiggins at the third slot and why Šarić compliments him at the No. 10 slot.
Dario Šarić is a big stretch/point forward; he likes the ball in his hands and is not shy about wanting the ball. Given MCW’s and Wiggins ball-handling capabilities (or lack thereof), adding an additional ball-handler and playmaker could benefit the two.
Here is more of my rant about Šarić.
Jake Pavorksy from Liberty Ballers tweeted at me to “convince .” In which I sent him this video of Saric. In return, I got a favorite out of him, WHICH MEANS A WHOLE LOT IN THE TWITTER WORLD!
This is where @ShamusNBA comes into the conversation, mentioning trading back into the first round to nab a shooter (me prefers Zach LaVine but I won’t go much further than that.)
@ShamusNBA goes onto mention that if the Sixers were to draft Saric, Hinkie should get some type of assurance of his timetable of when he would likely join the Sixers, either it being this year or sometime down the road. Honestly, it wouldn’t really matter TOO much if Dario didn’t join the Sixers next year. What matters is the year after next year when they should be on pace to make the playoffs. It would be beneficial for Saric to come over right away so he could develop a rapport with MCW, Wiggins, Noel and budding superstar Henry Sims.
This next tweet is probably my favorite tweet from all last night.
I feel a future meme coming out about that one, tbh.
The Šarić talk kind of died down after all that. We went ended up conversing about Gary Harris, Enes Kanter, Eric Beldsoe, LeBron and Melo and KD teaming up to play together and a lot of other nonsense.
Let me end this post with this last tweet.
