James Ennis’ professional career in Australia’s National Basketball League has presented his game as a typical “3 and D” guy. After this week, however, he’s shown the Miami Heat flashes of a go-to scorer, a guy that can slow the game down and put the ball in the basket when need be.

Ennis was the leading scorer this week for the Heat while shooting over 50 percent from the field. He was impressive in almost every facet of his game. Ennis boasts tremendous upside due to his athleticism, shot-making ability, and stifling defense.  Ennis could use some polish on the offensive end — struggling a bit this week with passing and creativity.

Pat Riley and the Heat front office are excited about James Ennis’ continued progression and hope to get him on the floor in bulk this upcoming season. They have plenty of minutes open after the departure of one, LeBron James.
