Jerami Grant

Jerami Grant was the model of inconsistency this summer. After shooting 48 percent from the field and 42 percent from beyond-the-arc in Orlando, Grant’s numbers plummeted to 24 percent and 0-for-5 from three the following week in Las Vegas.

At times he looked awkward and out of sorts, probably more so than any of the other drafted guys. His father, former NBA veteran Harvey Grant  (who got as much camera time on NBATV as anyone), had to cringe watching his son out of position and forcing up contested shots.

But when Grant played well, you saw the potential if he were to put it all together one day. He is explosive to the rim, attacking the basket violently. He’s another long, aggressive defender the 76ers have in their stable who will contest every shot. Sam Hinkie said in his post-draft press conference that they were shocked Grant was still available at No. 39, so I would be shocked if they don’t give him a chance. However, he might be best served getting some seasoning in the D-League. His potential and measurables alone are worth a longer look.
