THE SIXERS GAVE UP 26 POINTS TO TYLER ZELLER. I REPEAT, THE SIXERS GAVE UP 26 POINTS TO TYLER ZELLER. A CAREER HIGH. WHO THE HELL IS TYLER ZELLER?
In essence, this game was a dumpster fire from the get-go. The Sixers started off ice cold from the field, missing their first five shots. That would be the tale of the tape as the Sixers only shot 40.5 percent for the game. The Boston Celtics started the game as if they started five Ray Allen clones, hitting 70 percent of their shots in the first quarter and 50 percent overall. It was an insane showing by a Boston Celtics squad that is fighting to get in the playoff picture in the East, even though they’re supposed to be tanking (lol).

The Sixers looked completely disinterested in the sport of basketball the entire game. The entire team was playing as a bunch of individuals. There was no coordination, the offense was terrible and the defense was non-existent. Makes sense that I was writing a piece on the Sixers defense returning to form before this game.
To be honest, I wasn’t a fan of the Sixers starting lineup which featured Isaiah Canaan, Jason Richardson, Hollis Thompson, Luc Mbah a Moute and Nerlens Noel. That lineup does nothing for me. There isn’t much scoring and it showed by the way the Sixers came out of the gate.
Not to mention, there is no reason that Robert Covington shouldn’t be starting. Jason Richardson has been BAD the past few games and Robert Covington is the best shooter the Sixers have. Also, I’m more in favor of starting Ish Smith over Isaiah Canaan. Ish Smith is more of a distributor and I’m not sure what Canaan brings to the floor besides his shooting.
In all honesty, fans should be rooting for losses from here on out. The Sixers are two wins better than the worst team in the NBA in the Knicks and one win over the T-Wolves. But, you’d like to see a better showing from the squad and not completely crap the bed like they did tonight.
Stars of the Game
Nerlens Noel — 18 points, 7 rebounds
Nerlens Noel was one of the only bright spots tonight. He was playing in his hometown of Boston, so this game meant something extra special to him. The Eraser knocked down a couple jumpers and had some awkward hook shots find twine. Also note that Noel knocked down 4-of-6 from the charity stripe. I wanted more from him on the defensive side of the ball, but he wasn’t getting much help from his teammates either. This kid has to be the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for March.
Ish Smith — 16 points, 4 assists
I want to live in a world where Ish Smith is the Sixers starting point guard for the rest of the season. I’m over Isaiah Canaan (who shot 4-of-11 tonight). Ish Smith is a good story of a kid that finally had a shot to play in the NBA and isn’t exactly terrible. He’s roadrunner fast and has an idea of how to play point guard in the NBA. Start him Brett.
