Sixers End 16-Game Road Losing Streak vs. Nuggets
The Sixers franchise record for consecutive games lost on the road is 20. Coming into last night’s contest against the Denver Nuggets, the Sixers were at 16 straight road losses. The record was approaching although there wasn’t much discussion about it. Fortunately for the Sixers, last night’s victory finally gave them a much needed road win.

This west coast road trip the Sixers are on has caused me to catch most of the second-half when I wake up in the morning. This is an odd way to watch the game, because I already know the score, but I don’t exactly know how it happens. I say this because of the fourth quarter where the Sixers scored 27 points, but I didn’t know how/when it was going to happen. As I watched the end of the third quarter, the Nuggets actually had the lead.
My question would be answered, obviously. The game was still close at the under-10 mark in the game, until the Sixers started hitting a barrage of three’s late in the game with Covington, Isaiah Canaan and Hollis Thompson all chipping in.
It was one of the first times this year that the Sixers took control of a game in the fourth and ran away with it. This may be bad for the draft pick, but what can we do about it?
Oh yeah, there was also a Glenn Robinson III sighting! He played a cordial two minutes and committed a turnover in his first 30 seconds on the court and that was it. Still, GR3!
Stars of the Game
Nerlens Noel — 14 points, 15 rebounds, 4 blocks, 4 steals
Can we just call him ROY Noel at this point? This man has been potent since the departure of one Michael Carter-Williams and last night was no different. He was a mere block, steal and three assists away from the vaunted 5×5 game that he’s bound to get at some point in his career. His offense was surprisingly effective once again, which is start to become more consistent. It’s fun to watch Nerlens Noel as the vocal point of this team.
Robert Covington — 25 points (6-11 from 3), 6 rebounds
Aggression was Covington’s name tonight. He didn’t shy away from shooting the rock at all and he got 25 points out of it. He’s the best offensive weapon the Sixers have and he’s starting to have the confidence that goes along with that. I have no issue with him firing three after three because it’s what he does. He’s a shooter and more often than not, they go in. Even when he missed a couple in a row tonight, he stayed aggressive and looked for the next open look. I’m in love with the RoCo.
