All-Philadelphia 76ers 3rd Team
G Isaiah Canaan, G Jason Richardson, F JaKarr Sampson, F Thomas Robinson, C Brandon Davies
JaKarr Sampson is probably our captain of this team, because he’s the first guy who’s played a majority of the season for the Sixers, and he represents a lot of what this roster is about. He’s an undrafted guy who stuck in training camp and eventually became a rotation regular, he’s awful offensively (4.9 points per game on 41.8 percent shooting), but he’s long, versatile, and a half-decent defensive player on the wing. He’s not great, but he’s fun to watch. #NeverForget POINT JAKARR.
Canaan was a player I was very excited about when the 76ers traded for him, but he hasn’t really lived up to expectations, shooting just 37.7 percent from the field (although he’s at a healthy 36.4 percent from three), and spending some time on the injury list. Ditto for Robinson, who’s still a very flawed defensive player who struggles to finish inside. Both have been pretty disappointing for me since the Sixers acquired them.
Brandon Davies is more skilled than Aldemir, and is listed as a center even though he played a healthy amount of power forward as a Sixer. He makes the third team somewhat by default. J-Rich is a great story, and his random 360 dunk is one of my favorite moments of the season. He’s playing, which is good enough for a 34-year-old guard coming off an ACL injury.
