All-Philadelphia 76ers 2nd Team

G Tony Wroten, G Ish Smith, F Jerami Grant, F Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, C Henry Sims

Henry Sims being this high despite having no discernable good NBA skills is indicative of the issues of the center position when Nerlens Noel isn’t on the floor this season. However, he’s been nothing if not consistently mediocre, and he’s still on the team, so he edges his way onto the second-team.

  • Tony Wroten and Ish Smith are very similar in their play styles, although Smith is more of a playmaker while Wroten is more of a scorer. Neither player can shoot, but Wroten can at least get to the line well, and he’d probably be a first-teamer if he hadn’t torn his ACL. Smith is yet another 76er with more shots than points this year, but Nerlens thinks he’s the best pure point guard the Sixers have had this year, and I tend to agree.

The forward spots are trending the opposite directions; Mbah a Moute has been reliable this season, but he’s somewhat declining as Grant becomes more and more of a part of the regular rotation. When you compare their full seasons, the Mbah a Moute rates slightly better because of his inside scoring, but Grant’s got massive potential on the defensive end and looks like a long-term player for the Sixers. Still, both rank behind our forwards on the 1st team.
