There are two kinds of people in the world; people who support the Sixers rebuilding plan and people who do not support the Sixers rebuilding plan. Over the past two seasons, people from both ends of the Sixers tank spectrum have clashed over whether the Sixers plan is right or wrong, will work or won’t work, and, more recently, if Sam Hinkie is building a championship team or building a Ponzi Scheme. There have been numerous amounts of articles written praising the Sixers and numerous amounts bashing them (you get it by now).

More from The Sixer Sense

While being a proponent of the Sixers plan, this is not another cult-like article praising the job that Sam Hinkie is doing in his second season as the Sixers General Manager. Rather, this is to debunk a misconception about the Sixers 2014-15 team.

For critics of the Sixers plan it is easy to point at Philly’s win total of 19 last season, and say that the team has regressed nor accomplished anything with its 18 wins this season. That is not the case for this Sixers team, and to back me up is Brett Brown himself:

This season was a success for the Sixers, both as an organization and as team. It may not seem like it from the outside, but the Sixers progressed as a team and moved their rebuild forward in the 2014-15 season. They were able to do so by turning garbage into gold, player development, and uncovering their first franchise cornerstone.
