Apr 6, 2015; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Wisconsin Badgers forward Sam Dekker (15) drives against Duke Blue Devils guard Tyus Jones (5) in the second half in the 2015 NCAA Men

Sam Dekker

Every once in a while a player comes along that no one seems to get. He does not have much of a chance in making the grade. He is just another okay shooter in the crowd. These assertions may be false. Or Sam Dekker may be an exception to these rules.  He is not the most consistent and prolific athlete, but he was more than a decent college player with good offensive skills and has defensive intensity.  Dekker has a level of certain intangible qualities that will allow him to succeed in the NBA. Scouts are not fighting over his ability but they may be enamored with this typical run-of-the-mill player. Why? He has good instincts, is easily coached and plays physical and relentless. He also had a good tournament and impressed many. He reminds scouts of Gordon Hayward.
