No. 37 – Terry Rozier – Point Guard – Louisville – 21 years old
My professional scouting take: eh. Terry Rozier is one of those guys that you want to like because you thought he was going to be a top-20 pick. Then the more you watched, the more you doubted his ability to play in the NBA but still has transferable talent. With most of the point guard spots filled in Philadelphia, this doesn’t seem likely. Back in March, Kevin Pelton of ESPN, said that the NBA comparison that comes to mind was Darren Collison.
I can see what he is saying but you’re looking at a gluten-free, fat-free, calorie-free, non-GMO kind of Darren Collison. Both are fast and can score but Collison was faster, bigger and better coming out of college.
Instead of Rozier, the Sixers could look at an uber-athletic freak of nature in Michael Qualls. Qualls has good size for being a shooting guard and is probably a top-five athlete in the draft.
