This isn’t Kristaps Porzingis! Porzingis also doesn’t have any photos in the USA Today database so here’s Sam Hinkie. Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports
7. PF Kristaps Porzingis, Sevilla (7-foot-0, 230 pounds)
Porzingis is as intriguing a prospect as there is in the draft, and the buzz on him is increasing as we come closer to the draft. He’s a lanky, 7-foot-1 athletic big man who has the shooting stroke of a guard. Defensively, he displays good lateral quickness and is an apt weak side shot blocker. Physically, Porzingis will need to add quite a bit of weight if he’s going to play in the post, both offensively and defensively. That isn’t really my main concern with him though. He’s only 19 years old, and will have plenty of time to get stronger. What I do worry about is his rebounding and especially his passing. For a stretch four who’s comfortable on the perimeter, Porzingis really struggles setting up his teammates. In 34 games during ACB play this season, Porzingis averaged a measly 0.4 assists per game. While it’s clear Porzingis has a ton of talent, he’s far from a finished product. He’ll be able to contribute right away, but as a role player. Whoever drafts him will need to be patient, and allow for his game to continue to grow before expecting too much out of him.
