4. Dana Barros 50 Point Game
Not much went the Philadelphia 76ers way during the 1994-95 campaign. They were in the middle of a 24-58 season when the defending champion Houston Rockets came to town on March 14, 1995. To have a chance of beating the Rockets they would need a big night from their all-star Dana Barros and a big night is what he gave them.
Barros gave the Rockets guards fits as he scored 50 points while putting on a shooting display that would make Stephen Curry jealous. He went an insane 21-26 from the field including 6-8 from 3 point range and he only attempted two free throws the entire game making both of them. Unfortunately the 76ers lost this game 136-107.
His scoring output was the 2nd best on the team that season as his relatively unknown teammate, Wille Burton, scored 53 points earlier in the season versus the Miami Heat.
Barros played with the 76ers from 1993-1995. He averaged 16.9 points, 6.4 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals. He was selected to the 1995 NBA All Star Game and won the Most Improved Player award for the 1994-95 season. Though the Philly faithful did not get to see an upset win versus the Rockets, they did leave the Spectrum amazed at what the diminutive Barros accomplished.
