Steve Mix-15
Steve Mix has had multiple careers involving the Philadelphia 76ers. Mix was drafted by the Detroit Pistons, and waived in 1971. In 1973, Mix made his return to the court by signing with the Sixers.
Mix spent his time with the Sixers in the glory days, playing with the team from 1972-1982. He just barely missed the 1983 championship, but he did go to several title series with the team. Ironically, the year that the Sixers won the title, Mix was on the Lakers, the team they defeated in four games.
Mix averaged 20.2 points and 10.1 assists as a Sixer, and represented Philadelphia in the 1975 All Star game. Since those years of Sixers basketball had so many legendary players and lots of success, it’s very easy to forget about some of the guys that contributed, but aren’t recognized as “All-Time greats” today. Mix was one of those guys. Surprisingly, Steve Mix fell just two points under the famous Wilt Chamberlain on the All Time scoring list. His 7,559 points for his Philadelphia 76ers career is good enough to notch him at 15.
After Mix’s season with the Lakers, he left the league for good and retired.
