Eagles:

Does anyone really know what the General Manager situation is with the Eagles? Is Howie Roseman the GM or isn’t he the GM? I actually don’t think Roseman is as bad of a talent evaluator as most. Remember, this is the guy who drafted Fletcher Cox, Mychal Kendricks, Vinny Curry, Bennie Logan, Brandon Graham, Riley Cooper, Dion Lewis (didn’t pan out with the Eagles but showed immense potential with Patriots this season), and Jason Kelce (say what you want about his play this season, he is a pro bowl center selected in the sixth round!). I tend to think Roseman is an above average talent evaluator, but there is something to Roseman that seems to turn people the other way. It is well known that part of the reason Chip Kelly did not work in Philly is because of the tumultuous relationship with Roseman. It is also well known that the current Eagles coaching search is looking for a coach that can coexist with Roseman. That to me is baffling, sure Roseman has drafted well. Not well enough for me to want to deal with the baggage he seems to bring.

Sixers:

Sam Hinkie is a mad scientist and the Sixers are on the verge of showing the world that “The Process” worked. Many will see the win/loss record and believe that the Sixer organization is a joke, but many don’t think that about what the very near future is holding for the Sixers. There’s plenty of reasons to believe in the Sixers’ future. Dario Saric is coming to America, Joel Embiid is likely going to play and is one of the best prospects in recent memory, they’ll have more developed versions of Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel, and of course potentially two top ten draft picks (one of which may be the number one overall pick) in this years draft. Sam Hinkie has placed the Sixers in a great position going into this year’s draft. Couple that with the Sixers immense salary cap, and the future looks very bright for the Sixers.

You may think “If Sam Hinkie is so great why did they hire Jerry Colangelo,” but I have already voiced my thoughts on that situation in a piece that stated the Jerry Colangelo hire was strictly to appease the NBA, the media, and the fans.

Conclusion:

There is a huge advantage to the Sixers here. There’s a steady general manager up against the unknown with the Eagles. Even if Hinkie doesn’t pan out (no chance of that happening), then the Sixers can fall back on Colangelo who is arguably one of the best basketball minds in recent history.

Advantage Sixers
