The Philadelphia 76ers already orchestrated one of the biggest trades of the year so far, but of course, fans are wondering if they’re due for some action at the deadline as well. While some outlets are projecting that the Sixers may make a move, others are assuming that nothing big will occur for the team.

Here’s all the morning news you need to know.

Rumors: Sam Hinkie Won’t Make Trades At Deadline — HNGN

"The 76ers will not be ignoring phone calls from teams but their thought process at the moment isn’t to make big trades. Hinkie says that if something comes along that is too good to pass up they will do it but for right now it doesn’t seem likely. “We will continue to look for opportunities if there are things that we can do to add players for now and the future. We will look, but I’m not sure it will happen,” said Hinkie. Over the past three seasons the 76ers have been extremely active in the trade market. In the two seasons prior to this one specifically they have been very active around the trade deadline. Two years ago the 76ers traded Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen for Danny Granger (who was an expiring contract) and a bunch of second round picks. Last season the 76ers were involved in the blockbuster trade that sent Michael Carter-Williams (Rookie of the Year with the 76ers the year before) to the Milwaukee Bucks."

Noel’s Defense in Demand — Sixers.com

"Playing each of the final  22 minutes of the dramatic, back-and-forth Atlantic Division game, Noel’s impact was tangible.  He hauled in eight of his 13 rebounds, and registered all three of his blocked shots during that stretch.  These were contributions that Brown couldn’t ignore. “It was one of the games that I played him extended minutes because of his presence at the rim,” Brown said.   “Forget the lobs he and Ish [Smith] were doing.  His presence at the rim on defense was good, really good.  And so I played him there, and he had that volume of blocks.” The swats have been piling up for Noel as of late.  Currently, he’s riding a career-best five-game streak with at least three blocked shots.  Dating back to his season-high five-block showing on December 28th at Utah, Noel has turned away 30 field goal attempts in his last 11 games.  In his previous 26 outings, Noel had blocked 27 shots.  “I’m just feeling good right now,” said Noel Tuesday.  “I’m having good habits, staying confident, just continuing to progress under the defense.  That’s a big aspect of my game.  I think this has been one of the best stretches.”"

Will the Sixers Make A Trade At Deadline? — Inquisitr

"The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie will – as has been the case during his tenure – explore trade possibilities but there is no guarantee a deal will occur. “We will continue to look for opportunities if there are things that we can do to add players for now and the future,” Hinkie said Monday. “We will look, but I’m not sure it will happen.” Hinkie has made a name for himself, whether it is good or bad, for his deadline deals the past two seasons. Hinkie has traded away three starters – Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes and Michael Carter-Williams – as well as an athletic youngster, K.J. McDaniels, in exchange for expiring contracts as well as a few first round and second round selections. The Sixers could have as many as four first round selections in 2016 plus have Embiid as well as draft and stash prospect Dario Saric. Saric, who was selected with the No. 12 pick overall in 2014, is averaging 106. Points along with 5.5 rebounds in 13 Euroleague games for Anadolu Efes this year. Philadelphia also owns the rights to 6-foot-5 guard Vasilije Micic and 6-foot-9 Chukwudiebere Maduabum though they are unlikely ever to play in the NBA."
