Whether you are a believer in Colangelo or still are”Trusting the Process”, All Philadelphia 76ers fans share one thing. Now we can be optimistic.

The NBA Lottery happens on May 17. On that night we learn whether we have the first pick of the 2016 NBA draft, or all the way down to the fourth pick. On that night, we learn if Sam Hinkie’s strategy to swap picks with that of the Sacramento Kings yields any dividends. And on the night of the ping pong balls, we discover if we will be thanking the Los Angeles Lakers for their first round pick at four or five, or merely socking that pick away until the 2017 season. We won’t need the evening of the NBA Lottery to know we already have the 24th pick of the draft, courtesy of the Miami Heat, nor the 26th pick of the draft, courtesy of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

But even in the worst case scenario, we have three first round draft picks to use or to trade as Philadelphia 76er executives see fit.

Why the Philadelphia 76ers were very bad last season is behind us all, and I’ve presented a set of contributing factors as to what caused the carnage in one season.  Even in the aftermath of Sam Hinkie’s tenure, NBA executives still consider him one of the brightest NBA Executives. That should tell you something about the respect the industry has for the man who led us to this point in time.

More from Draft

The challenge facing any feel good to Sixers fans comes in the form of what just happened, or in where are we going?   If you truly trusted the process, the obscurity of the future has you anxious.  If you agree with recent NBA draft strategy announcement by Philadelphia 76ers President of  Basketball Operations Bryan Colangelo , then you are still fuming about the 10-72 record.

But there is a quite a bit of silver in the lining of the cloud right now for either camp, and it’s not such that we have to settle for an either or.
