2017 NBA Draft

The Philadelphia 76ers will have their own first round pick of the draft.  Where will that be?  If the team improves dramatically, it could be at the bottom of the lottery, but the lottery nonetheless.

Beyond their own pick,  the Philadelphia 76ers will have another opportunity to claim the Los Angeles Lakers first round draft pick – top 3 protected. As you know, that will pick is not guaranteed to convey, but with two sequential years with the second pick of the NBA draft, the Lakers should improve somewhat next year.  That should give the Sixers better than an even chance to claim that pick. Eventually the pick will come.

Finally, even if the Lakers pick does not change hands, the Philadelphia 76ers will have the right to swap their first round pick with that of the Sacramento Kings.  This could be an incredibly powerful value next season, as the Sacramento Kings are once more in the hands of a new head coach and looking to restock their free agents.

The Philadelphia 76ers second round pick is the final installment payment of renting point guard Ish Smith for a partial year from the New Orleans Pelicans.

NBA Draft Summary:

Philadelphia 76ers first round pick.
Rights to swap 76ers first round pick with that of the Sacramenton Kings
Los Angeles Lakers first round pick (1-3 Protected)

Philadelphia 76ers second round pick to New Orleans.
