Give Brett Brown more power

Another change that needs to be made is within the coaching regime. Although there have been murmurs that Brett Brown was not the guy moving forward, and murmurs that he will be changing the structure of his assistant head coaching team, things need to be changed about how Brett Brown is approached by ownership and management.

In the past, it seems as if Brown has had not much of a say on what players stay, and what players go. This kind of makes sense, given the strategy of losing over the last few years. A head coach still has a job to win, so he would likely want certain players to stay on the roster that didn’t match up with the plan of losing.

Moving forward, however, there’s reason to believe that the plan is changing. With Bryan in charge, the team needs to start winning more games. The team will be looking to piece together a roster that looks to win, not looks to lose. Because of that, Brown’s opinion on what players stay and what players leave needs to be considered more heavily.

What person knows better than Brown?

Brown spends a ton of time with these players, and he knows which ones he needs to put on the floor to have a successful season. When considering who to cut after training camp, Brown needs to be heavily involved in the conversation, and his opinion needs to be actually considered.
