The fun factor

Okay, I admit that a lot of this fun factor has nothing to do with Dario. It has everything to do with the Sixers fan base and how they turn simple events into catastrophic happenings.

A perfect example of that was all the hype of Saric’s flight, which happened earlier this week. What should have been a simple, “Saric will be in Philly soon,” announcement exploded into a hype-filled session of Periscopes and live streams of Saric just walking out of his terminal and answering a few questions. That’s it.

Saric has been memed all over Sixers Twitter, and is often used as a symbol of what’s next to come for the Sixers and their rebuild.

Most of the fun factor was fueled by Twitter personalities, but the day that Saric announced he was on his way to America, he also gave a little shoutout to one of the Twitter personalities, Shamus Clancy, in his announcement.

Things about Dario just make his whole presence in Philly very fun. It’s the cool name. The iconic two-sided mustache that has already been made into a t-shirt. It’s the build-up to all of this since Saric was drafted in 2014. Everything about this situation with Dario is fun, and it’s about to be even more fun when we’re seeing him with the team for over 80 games a year.
