3-point shooting

Another area that Dario will help the team out immensely in is 3-point shooting. Over the past few seasons, the Sixers have been pretty horrific from beyond the arc, but now have some solid options to space the floor for the Sixers’ power forwards and centers.

More from The Sixer Sense

Although Saric technically is one of those power forwards, he’s more of a stretch four than any other power forward we’ve seen on the Sixers. Ben Simmons arguably stretches the floor when the ball in his hands because of his elite passing ability and ability to do damage from all over the floor, but teams are aware that Simmons can not his 3-pointers, and can not really hit jumpers (at least not yet).

Saric, on the other hand, does have a solid 3-point shot, and he has demonstrated a dedication to making it better and better over the last several years.

In the playoffs of his Turkish league this past season, there were times where Saric was shooting above 70 percent from beyond the arc, with a fair amount of shots taken. That’s a very impressive number.

During the regular season, there were several months where he was inching — or exceeding — 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Although Saric can do damage from other areas of the floor, I have a feeling he’s going to be spending a large chunk of his time prowling the perimeter, waiting for Simmons to find him on a perfectly placed pass. The fit with him and Simmons is actually quite remarkable, and a lot of people aren’t realizing that.
