Philadelphia 76ers’ Core: Ultimate Roster Analysis and Predictions
By Bret Stuter
Furkan Korkmaz
Status: Euroleague
Contracted Through: N/A
Current 2016-2017 Salary: N/A
Trade Value: late first round
Strengths: Shooting savant. Raw talent that has great instincts.
Offense: He has consistently shot the trey at a 40 percent or better accuracy. In fact, Korkmaz has a brilliant overall shot arsenal for an elite three-point shooter.
Defense: Korkmaz has 3-and-D potential, but the defensive side will obviously be an issue until his strength improves
Weaknesses: Raw. Little playing time. Young player trying to earn roster spot on very young NBA team.
Offense: He needs to tighten up on a loose handle, as he doesn’t protect the ball well in the paint. His assist-to-turnover rate (1.4 in 15-16) will need to show improvement. He also was very inconsistent on free throws this year, hitting just 61.5 percent for the 15-16 season
Defense: He needs to mature, get stronger, and get more playing time.
Probability of 2016-2017 Roster: Likely no chance until 2017-2018 season.
