Ater what was largely considered a weak draft class in 2016, 2017 breathes a new sense of importance into the process that many teams overlooked this season. It’s time to look at players the Philadelphia 76ers could consider taking in the 2017 NBA Draft, a year removed from selecting Ben Simmons first overall.
The 2016 NBA Draft was a massive endeavor for the Philadelphia 76ers and fans alike. Ben Simmons was the presumptive number one pick throughout almost the entirety on the pre-draft process, but the shear wealth of talent that the LSU star possessed kept the majority of the NBA universe intrigued all the way up until the actual announcement on June 23rd.

Now, with 2016’s sizable undertaking complete and a trio of rookies added to the team’s future assets, it’s time to begin looking forward to what could be an even more exciting 2017 class. While this year’s draft was considered relatively weak by typical NBA standards, the upcoming class draws a stark contrast, with a myriad of highly touted freshman and international prospects that could make the 2017 Draft one of the most star-packed hauls in recent memory.
With that said, it’s certainly a bit early to begin making that claim. The upcoming freshman still haven’t proven anything at the collegiate level for the time being, and some of the most intriguing upperclassmen still have quite a bit to prove in order to legitimize their standing in the class. There is however an immense amount of raw talent that is soon to be flooding college basketball, and looking forward to how they could project not only next season but once they reach the NBA is far from a pointless task.
The following is my way-too-early big board for 2017 NBA Draft prospects, breaking down the top 30 overall:
