14. C Omer Yertseven, Fenerbahce

Yertseven is another well polished European big, providing a level of development on the low block that isn’t really found elsewhere in this draft quite yet. Standing at 7-0, Yertseven has an exceptional frame physically that has plenty of room to continue growing, and his nimble nature at that size is a gigantic bonus.

In terms of the most skilled post scorers in this upcoming draft class, Yertseven ranks near the top. He has exceptional fundamentals on the low block and in the the high post, and is capable of utilizing a number of different moves to free up space and knock down shots in close proximity. His jump hook is incredibly difficult to guard effectively, and he’s among the draft’s most aware offensive minds available.

In addition to his scoring skills, Yertseven is a smooth passer out of the post as well. He sees the court well and can dish the ball off to teammates effectively when he’s not able to get off solid shots of his own. He’s one of the more polished players intellectually that you’ll find at such as young age, and that should carry over very well to the next level of play.

Defensively, his somewhat mediocre wingspan does limit his upside, but he’s far from ineffective. He’s still large enough to bother shots underneath the basket and put himself in position for rebounds, while his competitiveness has been consistently praised. He’s not the most outwardly demonstrative attitude on the court, but he’s a smart player who puts himself in position to be effective.

In a draft that is highlighted by some big names at the center spot, Yertseven is in a position to put himself directly into the conversation as one of the most wanted players in the draft down low. He has some improvements he could make, but he’s as thoroughly bred skill-wise as big men come into the league.
