Silver Lining

It was clear that the Philadelphia 76ers have addressed the back court in the offseason in such a way as to eliminate the likelihood of Marshall making the team’s roster this year.  But a bench role for a young man is certainly well within his scope.  It was an opportunity to end up with more draft picks which ultimately led the 76ers to trade Marshall to the Utah Jazz, which developed into the Jazz waiving Marshall almost immediately.

Marshall played well enough for both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks, well enough to come in on a “show me” contract. Team with point guard on the shopping list this off-season include the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, Brooklyn Nets, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, and Houston Rockets.

Kendall Marshall’s career is not over just yet.   Even if the NBA snubs him, he could take the path of Sergio Rodriguez and resuscitate his career in the Euroleague.

It’s not over for Kendall Marshall just yet, but this will be a test of his commitment.  Can he find a path to fulfill his NBA dreams now?  I hope he does.
