(1) Joel Embiid had a setback

Scenario number one feeds the deepest darkest fears of Philadelphia. In this scenario, the worst possible outcome is happening once more.

Over a year ago, everyone was hopeful that the one year wait for the debut of center Joel Embiid was about to take place.  Unfortunately rumors began to surface that Embiid had suffered a setback.

The team waited nearly a month after the team discovered the setback before making an announcement about the need for a second surgery on Embiid’s right foot.  It was an additional month after that which set a date for that surgery.

Unrealistic as it is, and contradicting all of the positive news coming from the Philadelphia 76ers throughout this off-season, a young 7-foot-3 gigantic statured NBA center shakes the already shaken confidence of Joel Embiid’s healthy recovery.

Is there any logic to this? None whatsoever. But fear is never based on logic or what will happen.  It’s based on what might happen.
