2016 NBA Draft
The 2016 offseason finally resulted in the Sixers’ plan that was first started during the 2013 offseason paying off. Simultaneously, the Celtics’ experienced their best offseason in years.
The Celtics drafted Jaylen Brown with the third pick in the 2016 draft. While I’m not a fan of Brown and wouldn’t have selected him third, he does have the physical ability to become the next Jimmy Butler, if he improves his shooting, ball handling, defense, and passing by a lot. Signing Al Horford is the Celtics biggest achievement outside of hiring Stevens over this time period. The 30-year power center has been elected to four All-Star games and averaged 14.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game for his career.
