2: Which Covington Will Show Up?

So far this season, there have been two versions of Robert Covington, and it’s anyone’s guess as to which one will show up on Wednesday night.

The first is a sharp-shooting, legitimate 3-point threat that plays excellent defense. In the four games that this version of Covington has shown up this year, he’s gone 13-for-24 from behind the arc (54.1 percent) and 18-for-35 on field goal attempts (51.4 percent) with seven steals and 22 rebounds.

When this this version of Covington shows up, the Sixers have been a much more competitive team.

The second version, who struggles to hit open jump shots and turns the ball over at a high rate, has connected on just 5 of his 43 field goal attempts (11.6 percent) and 4 of his 35 3-point attempts (11.4 percent) while committing 9 turnovers. This version of Covington has showed up in five games so far this year.

The Sixers have not won game with this version of Covington on the court.

If the 76ers want any chance at winning, they’ll need the better version of him to show up.

We’ll see who’s present on Wednesday.
