3 – Okafor is Finding His Stride

While recovering from knee surgery, Jahlil Okafor has been on a minutes restriction early in the season. He didn’t play exceptionally well in his first few games of action, but it appears that he’s starting to get into a groove.

For the second time in three games, Okafor set season-high’s for scoring. In just 20 minutes on Wednesday, he topped his previous season-high (18 points) with a team-high 19 points. He also contributed five rebounds and two assists in the victory.

When Okafor produces like this, it allows the Sixers to be more confident while resting Joel Embiid.

Seeing as the 76ers drafted Okafor with the third overall pick in last year’s draft, it’s definitely a positive when he has big nights like he had on Wednesday.
