Well, the biggest questions have been answered. The team has an identity. In the common elements of Robert Covington, T.J. McConnell, Joel Embiid, Richaun Holmes, Dario Saric, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Gerald Henderson, and even Shawn Long, there is a theme. Now, the front office simply needs to sustain that theme.
And that is the challenge.
Right Fit, Not Just Best Talent
Finding the “right fit” guys going forward are far different than hurling players at the roster and seeing which ones stick out as stars. Now, the team must be more discerning. In the 2017 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers need back court help. But not all marquis prospects from this upcoming draft will fit into the team’s every narrowing needs. Talent does not always translate. But even more, attitude either works or doesn’t.
Philadelphia is not a basketball city to be toyed with. Players will not succeed here on reputation, or pedigree. This city warms to the players who fight and scrap for each ounce of respect. And those players sometimes come in short supply.

But fear not. With as many as six picks in a very deep 2017 NBA Draft, I’m certain we’ll find someone who fits this team, and this city.
