Barter? Trade? Swap? Haggle? Exchange?

However you might call it, it’s balancing surpluses and deficiencies for two or more teams. Can this be the makings of a 2017 NBA Draft day trade or trade(s) for the Philadelphia 76ers?

Possibly.  While it has been a trade bonanza before, it’s a new era.

  • As Philadelphia 76ers fans have discovered, the days of the miracle trade have faded into history.  Those surprising trades where the Philadelphia 76ers always seemed to be giving up something of value, but in the end fans learned the team gained far more in value.

It was simply delayed value. And fans learned to appreciate the drama, and the eventual value.

But now, trade intentions are announced well in advance. And nothing comes.  Should the Philadelphia 76ers ignore the possibilities?  Not so fast.

The key to this strategy is to simply not give it away. Don’t tell the world that “We’ve got some excess picks and we’re hopeful we can resolve it by the time the NBA Draft rolls around.” Do that, and you have already hung a “giving picks away” sign up without knowing it.

So what do you go after?
