Rihanna Surprises Philadelphia 76ers Rookie Center Joel Embiid, Visiting Him During His Recovery

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has had some tough luck recently. After rehabilitating his surgically repaired foot for two years, he finally had a chance to play basketball for the Philadelphia 76ers. He played well, so well that he won enough popular votes for the NBA All-Star Game to be considered for participation.

But he didn’t make it to the All-Star game.

Then, the Fates decreed once more to slow the ascent of the NBA’s newest and most infectiously funny star.  And so, Joel Embiid was shut down to a knee injury.  Ultimately, the injured knee resulted in an untimely surgery.

But there he was, in the hospital.  And lo and behold!  He had a very welcomed but unexpected visitor.

Now, the story ends there until you start connecting some dots… First of all, let’s bring in the storyline of the other main character of this modern tale of Sleeping Beauty, Rihanna. Or rather, Joel Embiid’s incessant focus on the attractive singer in social media.

And then again, there is this.  He has been turning up the heat on the pop star this year.

Joel Embiid has a crush on the singing star.

Finally, there is this.  The media has been helping Joel Embiid put the full court press on.

And yes. Even I got into the act. After all, cupid seems to need a push sometimes.

Back To The Recovery Room

Now, back to the original story. Joel Embiid flew across the country to have his surgery in Los Angeles California.   The Orthopedic Clinic was Kerlan-Jobe, and is located at 6801 Park Terrace Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90045.  Do you see where this is going?

Okay, let’s give you another clue. On 18 December 2012, Rihanna bought a mansion in the Pacific Palisades for the tidy sum of $12 Million. It also happens to be just 12.7 miles from the place Joel Embiid had his surgery.  Well she sold that place in 2014?  Yes, only to rent a mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

The distance from hospital to Rihanna?  Once more, a short drive, only 13.9 miles.

But Rihanna is a busy lady, right?  Per the Rihanna Now website, her schedule cleared after a March 21, 2017 charity ball in New York City.  So what is her motivation?  Well, she has launched a very successful line in sportwear.

A powerful force in sportswear shows up with one of the most powerful young stars of the NBA? Is it romance? Business? Is it a call to check up on a young man who keeps Rihanna’s name in the headlines? Is is a publicity stunt?  Who’s to say?

So now you are probably ask, what’s my motivation?  It’s tough to know at this point. But there is one thing that I DO know. And so, I know that the most likely storyline is that this is simply April 1, and this has been en elaborate April Fools joke.
