Washington Huskies point guard Markelle Fultz is likely checking out two prospective NBA teams when he watches courtside as the Philadelphia 76ers host the Brooklyn Nets tonight

Well now, things get fun for the Philadelphia 76ers this time of year, don’t they? It just so happens that top ranked Markelle Fultz will likely be courtside tonight as the Philadelphia 76ers host the Brooklyn Nets.

Now you might think this is a chance for the young man to catch two NBA teams with a chance to add his play to their rosters, right? Well, if you do you’d be wrong.  Fultz may be in the sights of all NBA teams, but the Brooklyn Nets will be swapping their first round pick with the Boston Celtics.

Husky Haul Helps

So, I have connections with the folks over at FanSided’s The Husky Haul, the website that covers the University of Washington Huskies.

Markelle Fultz did as expected, he liked and retweeted the question. Is that a definitive yes? No. But it’s an official acknowledgement.  And right now, that is as good as a yes.

Since the NBA does not work like the NCAA, this will not have any say in terms of which NBA team ends up selecting Markelle Fultz.  But what it does prove is that Markelle Fultz has interest in the Philadelphia 76ers. Why does that matter?

Fultz Is Philly’s Number One

It’s a good sign of mutual interest.  And while he’s there, there is a strong possibility of getting a guided tour of the state of the art training facilities.  While some have waged the debate, make no mistake. The Philadelphia 76ers see Markelle Fultz as the top prospect in the 2017 NBA Draft. But they love his versatility, his ability to see the court, act independently, and to operate like a surgeon with the ball or off-ball.

And for Markelle Fultz, no NBA team is better prepared to take him to his fullest potential.  Head coach Brett Brown is the ruling champion of NBA development.  He’s had years of practice, patience, and diligence to perfect his techniques. And with Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz becomes the perfect counter-balance, with an oh-so-sweet perimeter shot to go with excellent balance and court awareness.
