Philadelphia 76ers Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot Earned Starting Role In 2017-2018

Adjustment Period
The point of describing the impact upon a rookie entering the NBA merely points out the cause and effect of slow starts to rookies in the NBA. Ignore that, and impatience follows. Fall victim to impatience, and the rookie is traded away at the first opportunity.

That impatience at a rookie’s development enabled the Philadelphia 76ers to snag Nik Stauskas from the Sacramento Kings. That same impatience spells disaster to any fan base or front office which the emotion infects.
Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown is immunized to impatience. The upside to all of this is that he is usually proven right in the end. But even he could not foresee the slope of TLC’s growth.
Projections, Slides, Realization
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot was projected by some to be a top ten pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Many saw his skills as a great fit for the Philadelphia 76ers, but did not expect his tumble into Philadelphia’s neighborhood. As a result, many projected a very similar but in even more raw form Furkan Korkmaz to the Philadelphia 76ers at 24. But TLC was there. And to punctuate the draft, Furkan Korkmaz was there at 26. The Philadelphia 76ers landed the two players many thought would be off the board.
But TLC was very raw. In Oct. 2016, he did not score. By Dec. 2016, he was up to 2.6 points per game for the month. By Feb. 2017, he climbed to 5.4 points per game. So far in April, he is averaging 21.0 points per game. He seems to have adjusted.
