Momentum

Let’s not make too great a leap of faith here. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot will not begin the 2017-2018 season where he left off this year. But he will begin the season with an entire NBA season of refinement, but the ability to train in the off-season to shore up his vulnerabilities.

He will likely work on that three-point shot in the offseason.  But let’s be very clear about some rookie facts from TLC.  Philadelphia 76ers fans are not duped. They have a pretty good sense when a player is showing up out of obligation, out of the paycheck, out of the ego, or out of the passion.  Luwawu-Cabarrot is all about the passion.

Unequaled Drive

And so, his love of the game drives him to improve, to learn to adjust, to open his mind to coaching.  From the young man fighting to get playing time, he turned out to play in 65 games for the team .  However, due to his early games “mop up” minutes coming in bunches of five or six minutes, he remains at an average of just 16.3 minutes per game.  But don’t let that fool you.

TLC is high energy. In fact, he is described by his coach as “reckless abandon”.   But raw to refined is a huge step in one season, but there is far to go. Now that he has the momentum, the path is clear.
