Should The Philadelphia 76ers Draft 7 foot 6 Center Tacko Fall?
7-foot-6 center Tacko Fall may end up declaring for the NBA Draft this year. If he does end up entering, the Philadelphia 76ers should select him.
Most fans are primarily worried about who the Philadelphia 76ers will select with their lottory pick(s). Depending on where the Los Angeles Lakers pick lands, it may convey to the Sixers. Sadly, the majority of fans are not thinking about who the franchise will select with their four second round picks. One answer to who one of the four possible picks could be is Tacko Fall.
According to ESPN, Fall will test the draft waters. Fall is a 7-foot-6 center who finished last season with the University of Central Florida. Some may remember him in high school as a freakishly tall kid.
In high school, he was just outrageous. College is no exception either. During his time at UCF, he put up growing and impressive numbers in his two years playing college ball.

On paper he seems like a very solid prospect. He shows potential for growth and his defense will translate nicely to the NBA. He won AAC Defensive Player of the Year, which is a plus if Brett Brown becomes his coach in the NBA.
Some will look at his stats and see a dip in his shooting percentage. Fans may worry about these drops, however, it is not anything for fans to be concerned about fundamentally. He was most likely fatigued with the increase in minutes.
Recently I wrote an article in which I explained that it would be better for the Philadelphia 76ers to have a veteran as a third string center. I still hold true to that, but if the Sixers were to draft a third string center, I believe Fall would be the perfect fit.
In my opinion, he is no first-round talent, which gives the Philadelphia 76ers a greater chance of getting the sophomore big man. If he is selected by the Sixers he would become the third string center behind Joel Embiid and Richaun Holmes. Having a 7-foot-6 player on the roster would not hurt the Sixers’ brand either. This is under the assumption that Jahlil Okafor will be traded before the beginning of next season.

As a Philadelphia 76er, Fall will probably spend time with the Delaware 87ers during his rookie season and play spot minutes at the end of NBA games. He would help secure the depth position at center. He would also have no immediate pressure to produce right away either, which is very important for a player in his position. Time will only tell if Fall actually participates in this year’s draft. If he does, then the Sixers have a chance at a very solid third string center of the future.
