The Philadelphia 76ers season has come to a close, and now it’s time to look towards their NBA Draft Lottery Odds and possible prospects.
On Wednesday night, the NBA regular season came to a close. While it is now time for some NBA teams to begin looking towards their playoff matches and hopes of somehow upsetting either the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Golden State Warriors, teams not in the playoffs are thinking about other things like the NBA Draft and free agency.
The Philadelphia 76ers are no strangers to the NBA Draft Lottery. The event has become so beloved by Sixers fans over the last several years that there’s even a party in Philadelphia every year to commemorate the event.
It’s no wonder people get caught up in the odds and the possibility of the Sixers having a really good pick.
Max Rappaport put together a graphic (with the help of numbers from Lottery Bucket) to show where the Sixers stand, and how much of a chance they have at getting a top pick. All of the odds include their pick swap rights with the Sacramento Kings.
Top pick
The Sixers have a 14.7 percent chance at getting the top pick.
Second pick
The Sixers have a 15.1 percent chance at getting the second overall pick.

Third pick
The Sixers have a 15.4 percent chance at getting the third overall pick.
Fourth pick
The Sixers have a 9.9 percent chance at getting the fourth overall pick.
Fifth pick
The Sixers have a 31.6 percent chance at getting the fifth overall pick (this is the most likely scenario for the Sixers going into the lottery).
Combinations
Top two
The Sixers have a 29.8 percent chance at getting a top two overall pick.
Top three
The Sixers have a 45.3 percent chance at getting a pick in the top three (which is the only part of the lottery that is actually determined directly by ping-pong balls).
Outside of top three
There is a 54.7 percent chance that the Sixers’ own pick falls outside of the top three.
Better than fifth overall
While the fifth pick is the most likely for the Sixers, there is a 55.1 percent chance the team’s pick lands in a spot better than fifth overall. So it is more likely that the team gets a pick somewhere in 1-4 than it is to land at 5. Five is just the most likely individual spot for the pick to land.
Lakers pick
One thing people are certainly thinking about is the Los Angeles Lakers pick, because if that falls outside of the top three overall, it belongs to Philadelphia. Rappaport made a graphic for that as well.
There is a 46.9 percent chance the pick does not convey and the Lakers keep it. There is a 53.1 percent chance that the Sixers get the pick.
Similar to the Sixers’ own pick, the most likely slot they receive the Lakers pick in is fifth overall (it really seems like they’re destined to draft there one way or another).
Another Twitter user, @eaglesdiehard, put together a list of several different odds combinations, including the infamous 1 & 4 and other appealing (as well as unappealing) scenarios.
Until the NBA Draft Lottery day, this is all we have, numbers and odds. The Lottery will be held on May 16, and the announcement is likely to be before an NBA game on that day.

Sixers fans certainly they have an outcome similar to last year’s, when they won the top overall draft pick.
