Dwayne Bacon Is Not An NBA Draft Prospect For Philadelphia 76ers

Florida State’s Dwayne Bacon is a big strong athlete who seems to have NBA potential.  Unfortunately, his lack of an NBA level ability means the Philadelphia 76ers should avoid him.

Florida State entered the NCAA tournament as a consensus dark horse. That optimism rested upon the lottery-projected talents of small forward Jonathan Isaac. But Isaac seemed to shy away from taking over games allowing another NBA hopeful, shooting guard Dwayne Bacon to lead the offense.

Although Florida State lost to Xavier, Bacon was able to use this platform to show that he can be the go-to guy. In fact, Bacon thrived leading the break and was always a threat on the drive to the basket. On his drives, he displayed the ability to stop abruptly with a quick hop and take the jumper. This combination proved extremely difficult for opponents to stop. While Bacon improved his game greatly going into his sophomore year , he still has many areas to improve.

Bacon Bulked

Bacon noticeably put on some muscle to fill out his frame 6-7 frame. The results showed tremendous improvement on defensive rebounding. Now, Bacon is tough to move on the block and his general athleticism always him to beat bigger defenders to the position. With a 6-foot-9 wingspan, Bacon has NBA size to play either wing position while still being able to contest rebounds.

After getting a rebound, Bacon looks to push in transition where he  piled up half of his assists. Driving to the basket in transition and in the half-court will be Bacons greatest offensive threat. Being strong and long, Bacon looks for contact where he can draw fouls and still get the shot off.
