Philadelphia 76ers Bryan Colangelo Targeting Power Forward In Off-Season
By Bret Stuter
III Luc Richard Mbah A Moute
Power forward Luc Mbah A Moute may not strike everyone as one of the ideal options for the team veteran power forward need, but careful consideration reveals it to be just that. In fact, he brings solid strengths to the team for a number of reasons.
Offensive scoring is not his strong suit, and in 9 years in the NBA, never has been. His career scoring average is 6.3 points on an average of 23.2 minutes per game. But there are several upsides with Mbah A Moute which should attract the attention of Bryan Colangelo.
He has a long standing history with center Joel Embiid. In fact, that history is already well documented. Furthermore, his name appears often during free agency time.
But now the team has more reasons. Mbah A Moute brings outstanding defense to offset the great in-the-paint-offensive-orientation of center Jahlil Okafor. Let’s face it. If the team cannot trade Okafor, then the next best thing is to bring in a veteran who compliments his play style, and who can mentor his defense in the process.

The options for the Philadelphia 76ers are pretty good for a veteran power forward. And as long as the team focuses on a short duration contract, it will work out just fine.
