Time Waits For No Man

But the window for post season play is now for the Boston Celtics. And the team needs more “oomph” to get past the Parcheesi-board blockade of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. And unfortunately, Markelle Fultz is tomorrow’s solution to today’s questions.

Markelle Fultz is a great fit for the needs of the Philadelphia 76ers, and is the top talent on the board.  If the Philadelphia 76ers had the opportunity to pick Fultz, their roster would be vastly improved.

Boston Boldly Picks Fultz

But Fultz is out of reach. In fact, the Boston Celtics asset they will select him with the first pick of the 2017 NBA Draft. And that may be just as beneficial to the Philadelphia 76ers.  Fultz will attract front office attention. The team will have heated debates over building around now or building around Fultz and the future.  And the better Fultz does now, the more likely chance the future emerges the victor in those debates.

That refocus of the Boston Celtics to tomorrow may be all the Philadelphia 76ers need to sneak into the 2018 NBA Playoffs and win a game or a series. Go ahead and make that first pick of the NBA Draft Boston. Because after you do, you have sealed your future. In several years, with the right supporting cast, you may have a very good team. But today? The move will be just enough to open the door for other teams to close the gap. And that includes the Philadelphia 76ers.
