2017 NBA lottery mock draft
In 2014, to impress the fan base, Vivek Ranadive let Grantland film their draft room, where they shattered the unintentional comedy scale with this amazing video.
It made me love Sacramento so much more. If I had to live in a Bay Area city, it would be Sacramento just for the chance that Vlade asks me about the CBA and how to manage a team.
In 2017, the Kings will impress their fan base by trading up to select De’Aaron Fox, one of the most impressive guards in recent memory. Initially, I was not the biggest fan of Fox, but recently I have done an 180 on him. I love Fox’s competitiveness, as he is a guy who will likely go out of his way to make Lonzo’s life miserable when they play the Lakers. He seems like the guy who would thrive on the Bad Boy Pistons and break someone’s ankles (likely Lonzo’s). The Kings need a competitor like that.

The Kings are giving up two seconds to move up one spot, but Fox is such a great fit with Buddy Hield. This pick should make Kings fans for the first time excited for their future since Jason Williams was throwing ally-oops to Chris Webber.
The Suns move down a spot and collect two-second rounders to take a guy they would have taken at 4. If there was a team that lost from this fictional Knicks, Celtics trade it’s the Suns.
If the Celtics stayed at 3, they would have taken Tatum, leaving the Suns with Josh Jackson at 4. Now, the Suns have Tatum, who basically is a worse version of Rudy Gay post-Achilles tear.
I don’t know why people are trying to say Tatum will be good. He’s not good at all. He faded in the background at Duke, which is never a good sign. He’s an “old-school” player who will struggle in a modern NBA where passing the ball and mid-range jumpers are the worse than being a Hawks fan. The last “old-school” player from Duke to be drafted high was Jahlil Okafor and we all know how that turned out.
Seriously people, if a guys comparison is Rudy Gay that means he’s not good. Every team that has traded Rudy Gay has gotten better and every team that has gotten Gay has gotten worse. But I am not a GM, so I see the Suns thinkingTatum is the next Jabari Parker, let’s take him.
