2017 NBA Mock Draft 3.0: Pre-Draft
By Owen Nelson
Justin Jackson started the year as a fringe second round talent, he ended the year as a legit lottery talent. Everything finally came together for him, it took three season but better late than never. He also showed his leadership ability as he led the North Carolina Tar Heels to a hard fought, nail-bitting National Championship win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
The ACC Player of the Year shot 37 percent from three this year, this should help out the Pistons tremendously. If Kentavious Caldwell-Pope leaves town this offseason then Jackson will be given a big role to play next season. Additionally, if Andre Drummond is traded, the Pistons may look to acquire a center with this pick.
The Pistons are in a tough situation, there are too good to get a franchise player in the draft, but they are too bad to make any noise in the playoffs. The Philadelphia 76ers were in this situation prior to the Sam Hinkie era, I think the Pistons should blow it up, start from scratch and have a process of their own to trust.
