In one play both Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and first overall pick Markelle Fultz of the Philadelphia 76ers went down with injuries.

The NBA Las Vegas Summer League is a time to evaluate talent currently on rosters and those that are trying to make a there way into the association. Fans, players, and coaches hate to see a injuries during this time of the off season. Sadly the Philadelphia 76ers have yet another problem with the injury bug. First overall pick Markelle Fultz and second year wing Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot both got injured on a single play.

The play was not dirty in any regard. It was just a basketball play. Nobody should blame the other player involved. After the play, everyone one was wondering what happened to both players, especially Fultz.

Thank goodness for Ramona Shelburne. Shelburne provided quick updates on Fultz’s condition.

Shelburne clarified Fultz’s condition soon after her initial report.

Thanks to Shelburne, everyone now knows what is going on with Fultz. She also reported that Luwawu-Cabarrot was out with a cut on his mouth. She was also able to get a statement from president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo.

Colangelo’s sentiment is surely felt by Sixers nation. Joel Embiid’s reaction gives a better view of what the fans, including myself, thought when they saw the play unfold.

A pure reaction to be sure. Then there are some fans that may have had the reaction that head coach Brett Brown had during the game after the injury occurred.

"“I’m a little bit punch-drunk with the injuries that we’ve had with our first players selected over the years,”"

According to ESPN, there is no time table for Fultz’s return to the court. Fultz will have plenty of time to recover with the regular season several months away. According to American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, it will take six to seven weeks to recover. The Sixers must continue their approach of slowly bringing back players from injury. There is no rush to have them back at this point. Fans should not be surprised if they do not see Futlz in the preseason based on how cautious the Philadelphia 76ers have been with injuries in the past.

The good news is that for the long term Philadelphia 76ers fans should have nothing to worry in regard with these injuries to the two young players recieved in that single play.
