  • But fans of other teams continue to hurl insults his way. The age old “he’ll never play in the NBA” has been modified now to “he’ll never play xx games in the NBA”.  xx is a number between 40 and 82.

Injuries happen, but few get trolled as a result

The reality of the situation is that the foot injury is nowhere near related to the Meniscus tear which shut down his 2016-2017 season. In fact, the team had plenty of incentive to shut Embiid down and relaunch the full team roster this year.  But so many who had witnessed what he could do when he stepped onto the court saw another opening to troll the young man.

And they continue to do so, without realizing their impact on the NBA soon-to-be-star.  He uses that social media negativity as fuel to feed improving his performance. He loves to prove folks wrong. In fact, he is the ruling emperor of the male “gauntlet” syndrome.
