Sports Illustrated loves Bagley
Per Sports Illustrated’s Jeremy Woo, Bagley possesses a unique
"“combination of fluidity, length and athletic ability give him the best chance to anchor a franchise”"
The young power forward has been earning accolades on pure talent alone. Now, he is in Duke’s basketball program. That will bring top coaching to his elite talent. What will result is likely a player of the ages. Now, the only player to have elite post game on the 76ers roster right now is Joel Embiid. Adding a second defensive, offensive force will help the team that much more.
Right now, the Philadelphia 76ers have two picks which could land atop the 2018 NBA Draft selection. They have their own, plus that of the Los Angeles Lakers. So the team, without knowing the final rankings of team finishing in 2018, are in a good position.
How can this be so?
And while the team had to trade a 2018 first round pick from the Los Angeles Lakers, the Philadelphia 76ers were wise enough to exempt the pick if it falls at number one.
As a result, the Lakers pick has a great deal to say about who has the opportunity to select Bagley. Will he do well enough this year at Duke to warrant a top selection? It’s tough to say this early, but few enter college with the highest possible composite rating. Bagley is doing so.
Next: Brett Brown has high expectations for Ben Simmons
At some point, the Philadelphia 76ers will elevate other avenues to sustaining a winning roster. But for now, there is a 2018 NBA Draft coming in nine months. There are three players who could be franchise changing in that draft. Still, the best of the bunch could likely be Marvin Bagley.
As such, it only makes sense to want the Philadelphia 76ers to add him to the team.
