Philadelphia 76ers injuries surface as preseason gets underway
By Bret Stuter
Are you tired of injury reports from the Philadelphia 76ers? Well, here is another, and it details the who will and will not be suiting up for the first preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies
The Philadelphia 76ers are locked and loaded… and limping? Well no folks, it’s not all that bad. But it’s early in the season. Still, the team prepares for the October 4th contest against the Memphis Grizzlies. Who is in, who is out? Well, the outs are out, and they include: Center Joel Embiid, Wing Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrrot, Dario Saric. Amir Johnson, who suffered a sprained ankle, will be a game-time decision after tomorrow’s evaluation.
And based on the team’s track record, that isn’t all bad.
Roster focus in game one
So how does that impact the entire roster? Well, to be truthful, it’s likely positive as it will permit the team to focus on fewer players in this preseason debut. The team will have an opportunity to look at alternatives at the center position. Will Jahlil Okafor’s knee hold up? Will Richaun Holmes slide in to absorb minutes? And how will team play Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz on the same court simultaneously?
The questions of who and how start with that training camp roster. 20 names become 15 players plus two Two-Way contract players.
The who is on the team answered, now lets gaze upon the recovering players list and see how that looks?
