RECAP: Boston Celtics 110, Philadelphia 76ers 102
By Luke Swiatek
The Philadelphia 76ers struggled on defense again, and dropped another game to fall to 0-2 through the preseason up to this point.
Considering the Sixers were without Joel Embiid, Markelle Fultz, Dario Saric, and Timothe-Luwawu Caborrot, this game didn’t go half bad.
The Philadelphia 76ers turned the ball over a lot and had mental lapses on defense again, but that’s to be expected with such a young team. More encouragingly, they shot 45.2% from deep.
Like I said, it could’ve been a lot worse. No one could really stop Kyrie which was a problem, but hopefully Fultz can get healthy and develop into a guard-stopper someday.
As a sidenote, I don’t know what Ben Simmons is. He was listed as a guard in the starting lineup but he played alongside three smaller players, is listed as a power forward on the 76ers’ depth chart on ESPN, and guarded Hayward instead of Irving.
I’m calling him a power forward for now, but I really don’t know so no one yell at me this time.
