The Philadelphia 76ers struggled on defense again, and dropped another game to fall to 0-2 through the preseason up to this point.

Philadelphia 76ers. JAHLIL OKAFOR. He had a team-worst in plus-minus, but at least he’s showcasing a lot of effort out there.. C

His shooting was invaluable opening up lanes, and when he played alongside Redick, Covington, and Stauskas, the paint was so wide open that even Carnivore Jahlil would’ve fit.. PG. Philadelphia 76ers. JERRYD BAYLESS. B+

PF. Philadelphia 76ers. BEN SIMMONS. C. 23 min | 8 pts | 3 reb | 5 ast | 3 stl | 0 blk | 5 TO | 3-8 FG | 0-0 3PT | 2-6 FT | 5 PF | -5 +/- | Summary: Early foul trouble and inefficient scoring hampered Simmons tonight. Over the past two games, Simmons has shot 5-16, and he only went 2-6 from the line in this game. Simmons will never be a score-first player, but he needs to be able to make the defense pay sometimes.

Considering the Sixers were without Joel Embiid, Markelle Fultz, Dario Saric, and Timothe-Luwawu Caborrot, this game didn’t go half bad.

The Philadelphia 76ers turned the ball over a lot and had mental lapses on defense again, but that’s to be expected with such a young team. More encouragingly, they shot 45.2% from deep.

Like I said, it could’ve been a lot worse. No one could really stop Kyrie which was a problem, but hopefully Fultz can get healthy and develop into a guard-stopper someday.

As a sidenote, I don’t know what Ben Simmons is. He was listed as a guard in the starting lineup but he played alongside three smaller players, is listed as a power forward on the 76ers’ depth chart on ESPN, and guarded Hayward instead of Irving.

I’m calling him a power forward for now, but I really don’t know so no one yell at me this time.
