Draft the best, and debut both

The call to be the next dominating team mobilized the entire Philadelphia 76ers organization. The team signed two blue-chip free agents in wing J.J. Redick and power forward Amir Johnson.  The team added last year’s “draft and stash” Furkan Korkmaz to the roster, and then waited.

When the moment was right, the Philadelphia 76ers offered the Boston Celtics a trade package which met their asking price.

Now the team has assembled a roster capable of accomplishing the lofty vision of Embiid. Only four things stand in their way: The Cleveland Cavaliers, The Washington Wizards, the Toronto Raptors, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Despite losing the season opener at Washington, follow up analysis show the 76ers were very close to a win. Close to a win against a playoff team in the first game is a huge victory. But now, the true test is to play the Boston Celtics in Philadelphia tonight.
