17. Kevin Knox, SF/PF, Kentucky
Surprise! Here’s the fourth Kentucky Wildcat in this big board: Kevin Knox. The scoring ability of the small forward will be key if the Wildcats wants to get their eight National Championship. In the preseason, Knox has shown that he is talented enough to score at will against lower opposition — he scored 27 points in his preseason debut against Division III Thomas More College.
Knox mainly operated around the paint against Thomas More College as he was just so dominate. The forward also went an encouraging 10-10 from the charity stripe. Knox, however, missed three of his four three point attempts. I’m sure Knox’s shot will improve as he plays more and more for the Wildcats.
Since high school, it does look like Knox has put on a few pounds, but he needs to continue to do this before he enters the NBA. If he fails to add muscle to his skinny frame, he could end up being another Brandon Ingram. However, it’s been a very positive start for Knox to his collegiate basketball career.
